‘Enterprise Days’ launched at Portsmouth schools to inspire the next generation of coders and tech specialists

Posted on the 29th June 2021

Portsmouth based tech-firm, Radweb, launches brand new ‘Enterprise Challenge Days’ within local schools to immerse young students into technology, coding and app building.

In collaboration with Unloc, a not-for-profit organisation that empowers young people by delivering inspiring education programmes within schools, students will now have the opportunity to engage in an array of tech and coding focused activities.

The recent launch event saw Year 6 students, aged 10 & 11, tasked with creating an all rounded digital solution for the new Pyramids Family Centre in Portsmouth. The students were required to build an app or engaging game for the centre, as well as a poster or website to promote it. They were then asked to present their digital creation, as well as the accompanying marketing materials to the audience and the judges, including Steve Rad from Portsmouth-based software company Radweb.

The level of delivery from the children was incredible. The winning team built a fantastic game that provided a budget facility to build out the family fun centre with different activities, offering the option of placing the activities in different areas. The product combined finance, education, engagement, and delivered well on the specification they were provided with for the client.

The enterprise days not only teach children new skills and elements of technology, they also provide the opportunity for them to push their capabilities into new areas, which are so important for future career opportunities that will be readily available in tech.

Steve Rad, Managing Director of Radweb said;

“With software being the beating heart of all new technology, the future is bright for children who take an interest in coding. Radweb aims to highlight the opportunities of the future by introducing Enterprising children to the subject of coding, building digital solutions and marketing them in an online world”

Tony Shrubsall, Content & Quality Manager at Unloc added;

“Unloc aims to make a difference to young students who wish to develop the soft skills required throughout their education and careers, working with Radweb allows Unloc to combine our training with Radweb’s knowledge of coding and digital solutions, to address crucial talent shortages in the city for an industry that will continue to grow in demand for the foreseeable future”

Want to pick up a few new customers? Or launch a new product? Or start a new campaign?

Make sure you get three things right:

1. Your Traffic Analytics, Google Analytics is always a safe bet with some live analytics on top.

2. Your Google AdWords Campaigns, get the keywords right, group them into Ad-groups, make every group as specific as possible (the more words in a keyword search the better… and cheaper!)

3. Your Remarketing Tags, you’re paying for this traffic, don’t let them leave without being able to offer them something tomorrow.

Feel free to have a look around – and if you’re looking for an eCommerce site of your own make sure you check out our Portfolio.

Looking at what we’ve achieved has been fun but I’m more concerned now about the exciting things we’ve got coming up…
